Hello! I wrote you on the 8th of May. I didn't like "The Moon and Sixpence" very much because as I've already told you in the previous comment we read A LOT of Maughm at University. I'm nearly a graduate and now I'm tired of reading this writer (shame on me))) At first I liked him (especially "The Unconquered" and "Theatre") but then it began to seem to me that they all are alike, I mean his style, language and vocabulary. But I must admit that his "Of Human Bondage" influenced me greatly! As for "The Moon..." books about artists are always very peculiar (just like in the case "A Thing of Beauty" by A. Cronin whom I consider to be the best British writer)may be such books are better understood by artists themselves, by bohemia??? Thanks for your answer, by the way!
