From Time to Time by Jack Finney

Okay, but probably not as good as the “enchanting” Time and Again that preceded it. More of a sociological history lesson than a story, its descriptions of old New York has made me look more critically at the buildings in my home town, trying to spot the old ones and trying to imagine what the streets looked like at the turn of the 19th/20th century. I think it might make a fun research project, digging up old photographs and trying to reconstruct the view up and down the main street. Something to pursue in my free time?
